The purpose of this blog is to discuss the physiological effects of acupuncture when combined with specific frequency stimulation.
Different Frequencies & Their Treatment
The measurement of frequency is expressed in hertz (hz) and refers to the pulsations that occur in one second. For example, 5 hz means 5 pulsations in one second.
2.3 Hz
All conditions of pain should be treated at 2.3 Hz. This frequency ramps up the production of our natural painkillers (endogenous opioids) beta-endorphin. Studies show that beta-endorphins are 18-30 times more powerful than morphine.
Furthermore, when acupuncture is performed frequently, the beta-endorphin levels in the blood stay elevated for up to two years after the last treatment has ended. This is how acupuncture reverses painful inflammatory conditions.
4.6 Hz
4.6 hz will produce beta-endorphins as well, but this frequency is used to treat issues with the immune system and enhances blood circulation when applied to the arteries.
4.6 hz is the resonant frequency of the organs, so any issues with an organ itself will be treated at 4.6 hz.
9.1 Hz
When muscles are weak and not contracting fully, 9.1 hz is the appropriate frequency since it resonates with the musculoskeletal system. Acupuncture with this frequency is applied at the motor point, which is the junction between the nerve and muscle. In most cases, issues of muscle weakness improve immediately when this frequency is used.
I have mentioned in previous blogs that 20-25% of New Yorkers will have issues with stress at any given time. This can range from anxiety, depression, and insomnia. The following three frequencies have a strong effect on stress.
18.3 Hz
When acupuncture is performed in combination with 18.3 hz, the corpus callosum in the brain is stimulated. The major points used with this frequency include acupuncture points that regulate sleep, including the pineal gland point and the Valium analogue point. The Valium analogue point has a strong ability to stabilize the mind during anxious periods.

73 Hz
73 hz is the GABA frequency. GABA is one of the main inhibitory neurotransmitters, when applied to specific points, this frequency relaxes the mind and calms racing thoughts.
146 Hz
146 hz is the frequency that resonates with the frontal lobe of the brain. It is used in all mental health conditions. 146 hz is a vasodilation frequency that will rush circulation to an area. This is ideal for chronic pain and or scar tissue. In my acupuncture practice, I often use 146 hz for 10 minutes followed by 2.3 hz for an additional 10 minutes.
Acupuncture, when combined with frequency-specific stimulation, enables the practitioner to fine-tune the effects of acupuncture as described above. In addition, the stimulation can be controlled for the patient’s benefit and comfort. I have found that combining acupuncture with specific frequencies enables a quicker therapeutic response.
