Botox Injections in
Flatiron NYC

Botox is a highly safe neurotoxin that works by blocking a nerve impulse sent by the brain to the muscle, resulting in relaxed muscle activity. This is turn results in a diminished appearance of winkles and smoothing of the skin, thus creating a refreshed and rested appearance.

Regular treatments not only reverse the signs of aging but also prevent new wrinkles and worry lines from forming. Botox can be used to treat frown lines between the eyes (the “11’s”), the forehead, and around the eyes (“crow’s feet”) and lips (“smoker’s lines”). Botox is also commonly used to treat the masseter muscle, in order to slim and taper the lower face.

This minimally invasive treatment is tailored to a patient’s particular aesthetic goal, takes only 15 minutes and lasts between 3-4 months.

Dermal Fillers in NYC

Dermal fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane, are injectable materials consisting of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which your body makes naturally, and lidocaine, a common numbing agent used to make treatments more comfortable. Dermal fillers are used to restore volume, correct asymmetries and create more harmony within the face.

They are commonly used in the lips, cheeks, nasolabial folds (“smile lines”), jawline and under-eyes. Treatments typically take between 30-45 minutes and last between 6-9 months, or longer, depending on the treatment area and the patient’s metabolism.

Botox and Filler Injection FAQs

Our resident Physician Assistant, Caitlin Sacher, PA-C explains all you need to know about Botox Injections in this video:

What is Botox?

Botox is a type of neurotoxin derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.

How does Botox work?

Botox works by inhibiting muscle contractions in order to temporarily reduce the muscle activity resulting in visible smoothing of stress and frown lines.

What is Botox used for?

Botox used to treat winkles and creases in the face. It can also used for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) of the underarms, migraines, and muscular disorders.

Is Botox it safe?

Yes! Botox is used in 98 countries and is backed by over 16 years of published studies evaluating its safety and efficacy.

Will Botox make me look weird or scary?

Botox treatment results are dose and technique-dependent and are designed to give you a natural, refreshed appearance when delivered by a licensed, trained, medical professional. The idea is that you still look like you, just with fewer wrinkles. Check out some before & afters here.

Does Botox hurt?

Botox treatments are tolerated very well by many patients, who report a small pinch or sting. Topical ice packs and/or topical numbing creams are available for patients who want an extra level of comfort.

How long does a Botox treatment take?

The injection process itself only takes about 10 minutes, but a complete intake and assessment as well as a facial anatomy exam by your treatment provider will be necessary prior to treatment. Initial patients should plan for about 30 minutes for their first appointment. Follow-up or existing patients should plan for a 15 minute appointment.

What is the downtime with Botox treatments?

Downtime is virtually non-existent. You may experience temporary bumps or redness immediately after the treatment, but they will resolve in 10-15 minutes. Cosmetics can be applied immediately after treatment if necessary. Many patients have Botox during their lunch break and return to work immediately after.

Are Botox results instant?

Some patients see results in little as 1-3 days, but it can take 7-10 days to obtain full visual results. We advise patients wait a full 2 weeks to allow the product to take effect.

How long does Botox last?

Everyone’s results will vary, but typically patients appreciate their results for 3-4 months. A good rule of thumb for a treatment plan is scheduling an appointment once a season (4x/year).

Is Botox expensive?

We aim to keep our costs affordable for patients. We offer pricing by the unit, not the area. Your treatment provider will determine how many units are necessary for your desired aesthetic goal. That way you pay for only what you need. Discounts are available for first time patients. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay updated about our current Botox specials.
